One day I found a treasure map,
I went were ever it lead me.
I crossed the widest gap.
I climbed the tallest tree.
Oh! Where? Oh! Where would this treasure be?
I searched all night and day.
I crossed the biggest sea.
There was never time to play,
I could barely wait to see,
Oh! What? Oh! What the treasure would be?
I pushed myself harder now.
I wanted it more and more.
To let myself sleep I wouldn’t allow,
For that treasure I could not ignore.
Oh! When? Oh! When would I find this treasure? Am I knocking
on its door?
I had finally found the spot,
That I had longed for, for so long.
On the map was a tiny little dot.
My heart filled with a song.
Oh! Why? Oh! Why was my search lifelong?
I dug and dug,
Until I heard a ding,
My heart gave me a tug.
Is it a ring?
Oh! What? Oh! What is this thing?
I pulled out a box,
On it was engraved THE GREATEST TREASURE MAP OF ALL.
I became confused with all my shocks.
I began to bawl.
Oh! Is this it? Is this all?
As I drew my composure,
I thought, “What makes this map so great?”
As I drew closer,
I thought, “Is this my end, is this my fate?”
Oh! Is it? Oh! Is it too late?
I began to open it,
My countenance was stirred.
I wanted to quit.
But when I opened it, it was a book that said GOD’S HOLY
WORD.
Oh! What? Oh! What had occurred?
I followed that map the rest of my life.
The rest of my life was never the same.
There was no more toil or strife.
A whole new person I became.
Oh! Now! Oh! Now His promises I do claim.
